Kund residents demand all amenities during Urs period

Anantnag: People in remote Kund belt of Kulgam district expressed anguish over the lack of basic amenities on the occasion of urs of Noorshah e Bagdadi (RA).
Locals said that they are facing all sorts of problems during the Urs period of Noorshah e Bagdadi (RA) and no one from the administration has turned up to redress the people’s grievances.
While expressing their resentment the locals said that the entire belt lacks basic amenities.
“The electric wires are dangling from tree tops besides there is no water supply being provided to the area and the dilapidated roads act as the last nail in the coffin,” Mohammad Rajab, a local resident said.
He said that at present days Urs of famous Sufi saint Noor Shah e Bagdadi (RA) is going on but there are no facilities available for the devotees.
Local DDC member Sheikh Gulzar Ahmad said that he along with members of the Auqaf Committee of the Shrine met DDC Kulgam and apprised him about the issues and requested him to keep electricity besides all basic facilities available.
He said that DDC on the occasion assured that all facilities will be provided but on ground nothing happened.
He requested authorities to keep all basic facilities available on Urs of Noor shah e Bagdadi (RA) especially electricity, water supply and other civic facilities.
