Vehicles to ply from Jammu towards Srinagar today

Srinagar: Traffic shall ply from Jammu towards Srinagar on the national highway tomorrow, officials said Saturday.
“The traffic will run from Jammu towards Srinagar on Sunday, and no vehicle from opposite direction will be allowed to move,” a traffic official said.
“Subject to fair weather and better road condition, only one way traffic shall be allowed from Jammu towards Srinagar including Ramban-Banihal (local traffic) on Jammu-Srinagar NHW,” the official added.
Meanwhile, Mughal road, connecting Shopian and Poonch districts, also remained closed due to the heavy snowfall in the region, the official added.
Indo-Pak armies trade gunfire along LoC
Kupwara: The armies of India and Pakistan Saturday exchanged gunfire along the line of control (LoC) at Machil sector in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
Official sources said that the Pakistani rangers resorted to unprovoked ceasefire violation in the Machil sector on Saturday.
They said that Pakistan targeted the posts of the Indian Army along the LoC.
“The fire was retaliated and there were no immediate reports about any damage to either of the side”, the officials said.
Meanwhile, a senior police official confirmed the ceasefire violation in the Machil sector.
“There is no report of damage from the sector as of now”, he said. (KNO)
