Curb cybercrimes
The cases of increasing cybercrimes in the country are becoming a matter of grave concern. As per data published by the National Crime Record Bureau, 21796, 27248, and 44546 cybercrime cases have been logged during the years 2017, 2018 and 2019 respectively.
The motives behind cybercrime in the country inter-alia include personal revenge, fraud, sexual exploitation, inciting hate, spreading piracy, stealing information, etc. The states are primarily responsible for the prevention, detection, investigation, prosecution of crimes including cybercrimes.
The Central and the state governments have also launched various awareness programs to curb these crimes. People need to be cautious and should use protected internet connections and digital devices.
