NIPS shines in National Icestock sports championship, bags 20 gold medals

Shopian: National Innovative Public School (NIPS) Zainapora Shopian won 34 medals in National Icestock Championship 2021 conducted by ‘The Indian Icestock Sports Federation’.
This was announced during an award ceremony conducted at NIPS in which winners were awarded.
An official frm the school administration said that among 260 participants from 20 states, NIPS won 20 gold medals, 8 silver medals and 4 bronze medals.
In addition to that in long distance, girls won bronze medal and boys won gold medal, he added.
Meanwhile, the winners said that they have learned a lot by participating in the sports event and thanked NIPS management for providing them an opportunity to participate in the tournament.
Aurat ul Wusqia, a gold medalist told ‘Kashmir Vision’ that she feels very proud that she won gold medal in the event.
She thanked parents as well as teachers for being supportive to her and believing in her.
She said that for a sound mind we need to have a sound body which we can get by taking part in sports activities.
Other winners also said that they feel proud by winning medals and said that winning during competitive events encourages them to participate in mega platforms.
They also thanked the sports teacher at the Institute.
“Mohammed Shafi sir works very hard to train us,” the winning students said, adding that he was standing with them during these cold winter conditions during the training sessions.
Meanwhile, NIPS administration said that students from the school will take part in pre camps for 2nd Khelo India Winter schedule to be held from 19 to 26 February.
They said that the students will bring laurels in the upcoming events as well.
