Traffic halted on Jmu-Sgr highway, restored later

Srinagar: Traffic was first halted on Srinagar-Jammu for a few hours after landslides blocked the road at Shahbanbas in Banihal while as the road was cleared for the traffic within a few hours.
Traffic Authorities confirmed that men and machinery were pressed in and road was cleared at Shahbanbas in Banihal where landslides had occurred.
“The traffic on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway has been restored now”, Officials said.
Earlier as per the Traffic Plan Traffic Authorities in their communiqué had said that subject to fair weather and better road condition LMVs (passenger) shall be allowed from Srinagar towards Jammu.
Meanwhile Traffic continues to remain closed on Mughal Road due to Snow Accumulation.
Officials meanwhile said that subject to clear weather, traffic will be allowed from Jammu to Srinagar on Tuesday (February 2).
