KEG, others condole demise

Srinagar: Father of senior journalist and Editor ‘Kashmir Life’ magazine Masood Hussain passed away on Saturday morning. He was admitted at SKIMS, Srinagar where he breathed his last.
A resident of Gahend, Shopian, Gull Hassan Wani was unwell for sometime and was admitted in SKIMS on Wednesday where he breathed his last early Saturday morning, family sources said.
They said that Gull Hassan Wani was later laid to rest at his ancestral home in Gahand village in Shopian district where hundreds of mourners participated in his last rites.
Meanwhile, Kashmir Editors Guild (KEG), of which Masood is Secretary General, too has condoled the demise.
In a condolence message KEG expressed grief over Mr Wani’s demise.
“A highly revered person Gull Hassan Wani was a noble soul. He will be laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard at Gehend today,” said KEG in a brief statement.
“KEG stands with Masood Hussain in this hour of grief and expresses solidarity with the bereaved family,” it added.
Meanwhile, Director Information and Public Relations, Dr. Syed Sehrish Asgar also condoled the sad demises of Father of Masood Hussain, Editor in Chief Kashmir Life and Mother of Nazir Masoodi, Burea Chief NDTV.
In this connection, a condolence meet was held in the office chambers of Director Information in which all the officers participated. Dr. Sehrish and other participants expressed deep sorrow and grief over their demises.
Dr. Sehrish also offered her deepest condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for eternal peace to the departed souls and courage for the bereaved families to bear their irreparable losses.
Meanwhile, KEG also condoled the sad demise of mother of senior Journalist Nazir Masoodi.
In a condolence message KEG expressed grief over her demise terming it as a great loss for Mr Masoodi .
KEG stands with Nazir Masoodi in this hour of grief and expresses solidarity with the bereaved family, a statement issued by KEG said.
