Poor mobile network irks people in south Kashmir parts

Pulwama: The residents of different areas of south Kashmir have been complaining of poor cellular connectivity in their areas and have demanded more mobile towers in their areas.
Locals from Nigeenpora Kund in Kulgam district, Kamad Anantnag and Harmain and Kanipora area of Shopian districts said that they have been facing inconvenience in absence of proper network connection from last several years but there has been no intervention from any private or government cellular companies so far.
The locals alleged that despite repeated pleas to the concerned company authorities, telecommunication companies have failed to install any new tower in the area.
Masroor Ahmad, a resident of Kund said that they are facing immense problems due to poor network services from last several years in area.
He said that people even in the 21st century locals have to walk miles to even make a phone call.
Aabid Hussain, a resident of Kanipora Shopian said that when the world is witnessing 5G internet services, people in our areas don’t have network connectivity to call anybody.
“We usually move to other places to make phone calls as our phones remain out of service, when we stay indoors,” he added.
“The students are also facing problem in absence of network connectivity,” said Nadeem Ahmad, a resident of Kamad Anantnag, adding that our relatives also get worried at times as they are unable to reach us on our mobile phones.
Locals from these areas said that they have brought this issue to the notice of concerned authorities several times but so far nothing has changed for the people here.
They appealed concerned authorities as well as private cellular companies to install towers in their areas, so that people can heave a sigh of relief.
