Inclement weather: Ramban Admin alerts departments for prompt response

RAMBAN: District Administration, Ramban has put all the departments and executing agencies on high alert for immediate restoration of road connectivity and essential services amid the prevailing inclement weather conditions.
The District administration directed the SDMs and Tehsildars to make necessary arrangements for stranded passengers at RAHAT Centres as well as other designated shelter sheds in their respective jurisdictions.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner, Mussarat ul Islam took a firsthand appraisal of road connectivity and other essential services and supplies status from the SDMs of Banihal, Ramsoo and Gool, besides Tehsildars through virtual meetings.
The DC directed the officers to stay at their headquarters to deal with any emergency that may arise due to the rains and snowfall. He asked them to keep men and machinery on alert for meeting any eventuality.
He directed PWD, PMGSY, PDD, PHE, Health and Food Civil Supplies Departments to ensure availability of essential services as well as commodities especially in snow bound areas of the district.
Meanwhile, the DDC advised the people to avoid unnecessary travelling and start their journey on National Highway only after confirming the status of road from Traffic Police Control Room.
