Restore essential supplies, clear snow from roads in Kangan: Mian Altaf

GANDERBAL: Senior National Conference leader and former minister Mian Altaf Ahmed has urged the administration to take measures on priority to redress the grievances of the people after the recent snowfall in Kangan constituency.
In a statement issued here, Altaf said that there is shortage of essential commodities in Kangan area besides people are facing hardships due to the non- availability of electricity in the Kangan area after the recent snowfall.
He demanded that the administration should gear up its men and machinery to clear various interior road connectivity in several areas which are still snow bound and have not been cleared.
“There have been many incidents where dead bodies and patients were taken on shoulders travelling several miles in absence of the road connectivity as the roads are snowbound still which is unfortunate,” Mian Altaf said.
He urged the administration to immediately put its men and machinery to work so that the essential commodities are kept available for the convenience of the people.
Altaf asked the officers of PDD to restore the power supply in those areas early where it has been affected. He also sought round the clock availability of medicare facilities at health centers in the constituency.
