Pulwama: Amid the unprecedented snowfall and the administration’s failure to clear the roads, a patient was ferried to the hospital on a bed in Pulwama village on Wednesday.
Locals from Dadoora village of Pulwama which is just 4 kilometers from the district headquarter said that a patient identified as Haleema after complaining of pain was shifted to a hospital on a bed as four people shouldered her to the health care facility.
Fayaz Ahmad, local Auqaf President said that despite living very near to the town, our road connecting with district headquarters wasn’t cleared forcing us to take the patient to hospital on a bed.
He said that despite making repeating requests to concerned authorities no attention was heeded to our calls and the road was left buried under snow even on Wednesday.
“It took us around 2 hours to take the patient to the hospital as the road is still covered with snow,” he said.
Locals said that the claims of administration that they cleared all main roads are just a hoax.
“The roads leading to the village which is just few kilometers away have not been cleared of snow. What will be the condition of roads in villages that are far away,” said another local.
The locals again requested authorities to clear the roads at an earliest so that such situations won’t be faced by the people.
