Lone son of Shopian family goes missing, family appeals him to return

Shopian: A lone son of a family in Shopian has been reported missing since December 07 as his family has urged their son to return home. The family has also appealed the authorities to help them in tracing him.
Junaid Shafi Lone son of Mohammad Shafi Lone resident of Batapora Manihal village in Imamsahib belt of south Kashmir’s Shopian according to his family is missing since December 07.
His father Mohammad Shafi said that after completing his B Tech Junaid asked me to open a readymade shop in Imamsahib area.
“I sold a piece of land and started a readymade garment shop for him to take over,” he said.
“As usual he left home to go to be at his shop on 07 December and in the afternoon, he called me and said that he is going to Shopian to bring some items for shop. However, he didn’t return in the evening and since then his phone is switched off and we have no trace about him,” he added.
“We contacted our every relative, his friends and neighbours but no one could provide any information about him. We later lodged a missing report at police station Imamsahib,” he said, adding that since then we have been moving from pillar to post but our efforts have bore no fruit.
Junaid is the lone son of the family as he has only three sisters besides his parents and a grandmother, his father said.
“He is very innocent and we have no one to support the family except him,” his family members said.
“For the sake of your sisters, please return back and don’t leave us in such a situation,” said his father.
Meanwhile, his family members requested everyone including police and administration to help them in tracing him out.
A police officer said that his missing report at Imamsahib police station has been filed and there are apprehensions that they he might have joined militant ranks, however, efforts are on to trace him, he added.
