Sopore ULB election: 10 seats won by NC, 02 independent and one PDP in 13 vacant wards in Sopore

Sopore, Dec 22 : Out of 13 vacant municipal wards 10 seats has won by National Conference (NC) while as 02 independent and one PDP candidate has won in Sopore municipal election.

According to reports, five candidates had already been declared elected unopposed, among them four candidates are from National conference and one was an independent candidate.

Earlier, out of total (21) number of municipal wards in Sopore town, elections were conducted in eight wards in 2018, out of them 07 BJP candidates and an independent candidate had been declared as elected unopposed.

Those who won the elections are (1) Feroz Majeed National Conference ward 6  Tawheed Bagh

(2) Ab Majeed Bhat National Conference, ward 9 Badambagh

(3) Fayaz Ahmad Shah NC, ward no 12 Noorbagh

(4) Masrat Nisar NC, ward 13 Model Town

(5) Irfan Ali PDP, ward 14 Shallpora

(6) Akther Rasool Gilkar, NC ward 15 Muslimpeer

(7) Bashir Ahmad Mir, NC ward. 18 Chinkipora

(8) Mushtaq Ahmad Changa Independent, ward 20 Sayed Sultan

Five contestants who were elected unopposed are

(1) Begum Habla ward no 10 Iqbal Nagar, independent

(2) Muhammad Yousuf Radoo, ward no.11 New colony (NC)

(3) Javeeda Akther ward no. 19,  Naseerabad (NC)

(4) Rafeeqa Begum ward no.  07 Khwaja Gilgit (NC)

(5) Fareeda Begum ward no. 16, Teliyan (NC)
