Mega enrollment drive held at Education Zone Langate, Handwara

29000 students enrolled so far in Kupwara, including 1850 new Entrants in Langate Zone: Edu Officials

Handwara:A mega enrollment drive was held at Government Higher Secondary School Supernaghama Qaziabad in north Kashmir’s Handwara on Monday as hundreds of students were enrolled during the day long drive.
Incharge Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Langate Manzoor Ahmad and Zonal Resource Team lead the drive at doorsteps to give it a momentum.
They have sought cooperation from parents, in admitting their wards in nearby Government schools in order to build a self sufficient, learned and enlightened society. The Government Schools have well qualified, experienced and trained staff, said an official.
Incharge ZEO said, Govt schools not only provide free textbooks, uniform, education and meals but the emphasis is being laid on quality education and the learning outcomes.
The team while interacting with the locals motivated and assured the parents that government schools are going at par with private schools.
While interacting with media Manzoor Ahmad Bhat incharge Zonal Education officer Langate said, the performance of Govt schools for last few years is satisfactory and gradually the results are improving.
“But the declining roll in our schools have put a question mark on our credibility,” he said.
He appealed teaching fraternity of Zone Langate to ensure their active participation in this ongoing enrollment drive in order to make it progressive.
Principal DIET Kupwara said that since the drive beain around 29000 students have been enrolled through this drive across the district and said that 1850 students have been enrolled in education zone Langate.
Replying to query he said that maximum teachers are enrolling their wards in Government schools and in coming days you will see a further rise in it.
Those who were part of the enrollment drive team are Zonal Resources Team Alaf hussain Dar, Manzoor Ah Mir, Riyaz Ah Malla, Rukhsar Ahmad Lone and Tahir Ahmad Bhat and several others.
