Minor injured, 10 sheep killed in Rajwar

Handwara: At least 10 sheep were killed and a minor was injured after stray dogs attacked them in Shartigam Village of Rajwar Handwara in north Kashmir.
The local residents said panic has gripped the residents after stray dogs killed 10 sheep and left a minor injured.
They said the minor girl was shifted to nearby hospital where on duty doctors referred her to District Hospital Handwara for further treatment.
They effected families said the livestock is their only source of income and stray dogs have killed them and left the families in trauma.
Those who lost livestock perished have been identified as Abdul Majid Geelani, Ghulam Qadir Ganie, Gulam Rasool and Mohammed Subhan, all residents of Shartigam.
The people of the area alleged that dogs are being transported from towns to this area which has increased the miseries of the people as they fear moving out.
They have appealed authorities to take steps to end the dog menace in the area at an earliest.
