Stray bullet injures woman near firing range, locals protest

Srinagar, Dec 11: A woman was injured inside her home on Friday when a stray bullet hit her in the leg at Woolina village of the central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Reports said that the woman identified as Fatima wife of late Ghulam Rasool Rather was at home when suddenly a bullet entered her home and hit her on the leg. The relatives took her to District Hospital Budgam for treatment. A senior police officer confirmed the injury to the woman.

Locals said that some bullets were sprayed from airport side and fell down on roofs of their houses in the Woolina village. The locals have also taken to streets to protest against the incident. Further details are awaited. (GNS)
