Three killed in two road mishaps
Jammu: Three persons were killed and four others injured in two separate road mishaps in Jammu division, officials said.
They said that the accident took place on Tuesday afternoon when the Matador bearing registration number (JK02W-8912) on way to Budhal from Chassana turned turtle near Zero Morh, resulting in the death of conductor and owner of the vehicle Sanjeev Singh (33) son of Mohan Singh of Chassana and a passenger Liaqat Hussain (32) son of Kagh Hussain Hajjam of Kalaban Banna. Another passenger, Pooja Devi (14) daughter of Fanjay Ram of Ganjoli, suffered injury in her arm, they said.
There were 10 passengers in the matador and other escaped unhurt, they said.
SSP Reasi Rashmi Wazir confirmed the casualties in the accident and said that a case has been registered.
Meanwhile, another woman was killed and two others injured as a vehicle fell in a gorge in Rajouri.
Official sources said that a Maruti 800 bearing registration number (JK02AB-4075) on its way from Mendhar to Jammu rolled down 30-40 feet deep in a gorge at Katarmal Manjakote, resulting in the on the spot death of Parveen Akhtar (46) wife of Mohammad Younis and injuries to her husband Mohammad Younis (55) son of Jan Mohammad and his brother, Sajad Ahmed (22), all residents of Kalaban Mendhar.
SHO Manjakote Pankaj Sharma confirmed the death of the woman and injuries to two persons. He said the injured were shifted to GMC Rajouri police. (GNS)
