Avalanche warning issued
Srinagar, Dec 9: Authorities on Wednesday issued a high danger avalanche warning for Bandipora district in north Kashmir, a spokesman of the Disaster Management Authority (DMA)said here.
He said that DMA has issued a high danger (orange alert) warning for the higher reaches of Bandipora District particularly Gurez Tehsil.
He said that a Medium Danger (Yellow Alert) Avalanche warning has been issued for for higher reaches of Poonch, Kishtwar, Kupwara, Ganderbal and Kargil Districts and Low Level (Yellow Alert) avalanche warning for upper reaches of Ramban, Anantnag, Kulgam, Baramulla and Leh districts.
The spokesman said that the people living in these areas have been cautioned not to venture in the avalanche prone areas for the next 24 hours.
