Mini secretariat building in Tral awaits completion
Pulwama: Even though work on the prestigious project of constructing a mini-secretariat in Tral area of Pulwama district started four years back the building is yet to witness completion.
Sources said that the construction work has been stopped on the building due to shortage of funds.
Sources said that mini-secretariat was sanctioned in the area in year 2017 with an estimated cost of 7 crore, however due to shortage of funds work has been put on complete halt.
Locals said that mini-secretariat was sanctioned with an aim to provide all services in Tral and to cut down travel time as district headquarters Pulwama is around 30 Kms from Tral township.
They said that even after completion of four years only 30 percent work has been carried out and if work with this pace it will take decades to complete the project.
“For a minor office work, we are forced to visit Pulwama which is wasting our money as well as our time,” they said
The locals have now requested the higher ups to look into the issue and complete the project as an earliest so that locals can heave a sigh of relief.
Deputy General Manager JKPCC Pulwama Er Masood Ahmad, when contacted said that due to shortage of funds, the work has been put on a halt.
He said that so far we have received only 1 crore that too from the former MLA of the area who provided the money from his constituency development fund.
He said that we have recommend that this project should be kept in languishing projects, however, that hasn’t been done as of now.
