COVID-19: 10 more succumb, 582 test positive in JK

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday recorded 10 deaths due to covid-19 taking the death toll to 1,718 while as 582 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 111,712. Of the exact number of 111,712 cases, 66,784 are from Kashmir and 45,174 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 582 new cases, 272 belong to Kashmir division while as 310 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 66,538 including 62,784 recoveries and 1,115 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 45,174 including 42,106 recoveries and 603 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,104 including 2,639 from Kashmir division and 2,465 from Jammu division. With 419 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 104,890 which is 93.89 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 126 from Srinagar, 24 from Baramulla, 46 from Budgam, 17 from Pulwama, 10 from Kupwara, 08 from Anantnag, 12 from Bandipora, 14 from Ganderbal, 06 from Kulgam and 09 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 310 from Jammu division include 142 from Jammu, 22 from Rajouri, 50 from Udhampur, 22 from Doda, 10 from Kathua, 02 from Poonch, 17 from Samba, 07 from Kishtwar, 15 from Ramban and 23 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Notably, during the last 24 hours ten persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died, among them five belong to Kashmir division and five to Jammu division.
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include four from Srinagar, Kupwara and and one from Bandipora in Kashmir division and three from Jammu and one each from Udhampur and Kishtwar in Jammu division.
As per officials figures, 23,383 positive cases including 423 deaths and 21,799 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,522 including 163 deaths and 7,120 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,007 including 6,637 recoveries and 101 deaths are from Budgam, 5,144 including 4,897 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,234 including 84 deaths and 4,930 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,579 including 4,370 recoveries and 79 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,457 cases including 4,271 and 52 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,245 including 4,021 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,605 including 2,494 recoveries and 51 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,362 including 2,245 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 21,041 including 19,945 recoveries and 307 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,549 including 3,311 recoveries and 50 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,694 including 3,190 recoveries and 51 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,161 including 2,898 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Doda, 2,844 including 2,701 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Kathua, 2,399 including 2,324 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,512 including 2,296 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Samba, 2,517 including 2,254 recoveries and 19 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,956 including 1,825 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Ramban and 1,501 including 1,362 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 795,971 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 20,890 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 5,104 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 736,330 persons have completed surveillance period and 31,923 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 3,094,143 samples are available.
Out of 3,094,143 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,982,431 while as 111,712 have tested positive, among them 5,104 persons are active, 104,890 persons have recovered and 1,718 persons have died. (with inputs from KNO)
