COVID-19: Six more succumb, 452 test positive in JK

Srinagar: Six more lives fell to the novel coronavirus while 454 fresh positive cases were reported during the past 24 hours taking the total number of cases to 111,130 in Jammu and Kashmir. Of the exact number of 111,130 cases, 66,266 are from Kashmir and 44,864 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 452 new cases, 194 belong to Kashmir division while as 258 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 66,266 including 62,607 recoveries and 1,110 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 44,864 including 41,864 recoveries and 598 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 4,951 including 2,549 from Kashmir division and 2,402 from Jammu division.
With 403 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 104,471 which is 94.02 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 81 from Srinagar, 25 from Baramulla, 21 from Budgam, 09 from Pulwama, 16 from Kupwara, 08 from Anantnag, 14 from Bandipora, 17 from Ganderbal, 03 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 258 from Jammu division include 127 from Jammu, 15 from Rajouri, 54 from Udhampur, 15 from Doda, 14 from Kathua, 03 from Poonch, 08 from Samba, 10 from Kishtwar, 07 from Ramban and 05 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Notably, in the last 24 hours six persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died, among them three belong to Kashmir division and three to Jammu division.
As per the media bulletin, patients who have died include one each from Srinagar, Kupwara and Ganderbal in Kashmir division and two from Jammu and one from Rajouri in Jammu division.
As per officials figures, 23,257 positive cases including 419 deaths and 21,725 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,498 including 163 deaths and 7,081 recoveries are from Baramulla, 6,961 including 6,615 recoveries and 101 deaths are from Budgam, 5,127 including 4,897 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,224 including 84 deaths and 4,915 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,571 including 4,366 recoveries and 79 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,445 cases including 4,267 and 51 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,231 including 4,004 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,599 including 2,492 recoveries and 51 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,353 including 2,245 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 20,899 including 19,836 recoveries and 304 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,527 including 3,304 recoveries and 50 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,644 including 3,174 recoveries and 50 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,139 including 2,870 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Doda, 2,834 including 2,681 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Kathua, 2,397 including 2,319 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,495 including 2,239 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Samba, 2,510 including 2,254 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,941 including 1,825 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Ramban and 1,478 including 1,362 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 793,131 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 20,088 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 4,951 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 732,425 persons have completed surveillance period and 33,959 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 3,064,139 samples are available.
Out of 3,064,139 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,953,009 while as 111,130 have tested positive, among them 4,951persons are active, 104,471 persons have recovered and 1,708 persons have died. (with inputs from KNO)
