DDC polls: Groom prefers to vote first, keeps bride and guests waiting

Jammu: Stating the casting a vote is above all other responsibilities, a groom preferred to exercise his right to vote first and kept the bride waiting at a marriage function in Udhampur district on Tuesday.
Notably, Udhampur also figured in the areas where the second round of DDC polls was held on Tuesday.
Karan Singh son of Kartar Singh, a resident of Kaslote village of Udhampur was on his way to the marriage hall where his wife was waiting for the arrival of the groom.
However, Karan appeared at a polling station established at middle school Kaslote where he cast his vote.
“Marriage is one of the most important event in someone’s life but voting is a right and I decided to go for voting before going to the marriage hall,” Karan said.
Accompanying his husband, Rashu Devi, who got married in the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday, also reached at her polling station and cast her vote.
Dressed in bridal makeup, Rashu was accompanied by her parents as well and other family members along with her husband. (KNO)
