COVID-19: Eight more people die, 454 test positive in JK

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday recorded eight covid-19 deaths taking the death toll to 1,702 while as 454 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 110,786 in J&K. Of the exact number of 110,786 cases, 66,072 are from Kashmir and 44,606 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 454 new cases, 237 belong to Kashmir division while as 217 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 66,072 including 62,372 recoveries and 1,107 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 44,606 including 41,496 recoveries and 595 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 4,908 including 2,593 from Kashmir division and 2,315 from Jammu division.
With 503 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 104,068 which is 94.02 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 118 from Srinagar, 18 from Baramulla, 45 from Budgam, 09 from Pulwama, 10 from Kupwara, 10 from Anantnag, 13 from Bandipora, 06 from Ganderbal, 03 from Kulgam and 05 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 217 from Jammu division include 95 from Jammu, 25 from Rajouri, 25 from Udhampur, 13 from Doda, 20 from Kathua, 03 from Poonch, 07 from Samba, 06 from Kishtwar, 09 from Ramban and 14 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Notably, during the last 24 hours eight persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died, among them three belong to Kashmir division and five to Jammu division.
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include two from Srinagar and one from Anantnag in Kashmir division and two each from Jammu and Kuthua and one each from Udhampur in Jammu division.
As per officials figures, 23,177 positive cases including 418 deaths and 21,640 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,473 including 163 deaths and 7,028 recoveries are from Baramulla, 6,940 including 6,591 recoveries and 101 deaths are from Budgam, 5,118 including 4,886 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,208 including 83 deaths and 4,902 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,563 including 4,362 recoveries and 79 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,431 cases including 4,249 and 51 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,213 including 3,987 recoveries and 38 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,596 including 2,490 recoveries and 51 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,353 including 2,237 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 20,772 including 19,778 recoveries and 302 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,512 including 3,295 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,590 including 3,154 recoveries and 50 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,124 including 2,841 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Doda, 2,820 including 2,669 recoveries and 39 deaths are from Kathua, 2,394 including 2,313 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,487 including 2,239 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Samba, 2,500 including 2,221 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,934 including 1,824 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Ramban and 1,473 including 1,362 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 790,770 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 20,353 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 4,908 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 730,136 persons have completed surveillance period and 33,671 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 3,037,239 samples are available.
Out of 3,037,239 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,926,561 while as 110,678 have tested positive, among them 4,908 persons are active, 104,068 persons have recovered and 1,702 persons have died. (with inputs from KNO)
