COVID-19: Nine more succumb, 370 test positive in JK

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Monday recorded nine more deaths due to COVID-19 taking the death toll to 1,694 while as 370 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 110,224. Of the exact number of 110,224 cases, 65,835 are from Kashmir and 44,389 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 370 new cases, 189 belong to Kashmir division while as 181 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 65,835 including 62,099 recoveries and 1,104 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 44,389 including 41,466 recoveries and 590 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 4,965 including 2,632 from Kashmir division and 2,332 from Jammu division.
With 483 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 103,565 which is 93.95 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 84 from Srinagar, 18 from Baramulla, 19 from Budgam, 22 from Pulwama, 06 from Kupwara, 07 from Anantnag, 08 from Bandipora, 23 from Ganderbal, 02 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 181 from Jammu division include 81 from Jammu, 17 from Rajouri, 26 from Udhampur, 05 from Doda, 15 from Kathua, 01 from Poonch, 15 from Samba, 16 from Kishtwar, 05 from Ramban and 00 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Notably, during the last 24 hours nine persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died, among them three belong to Kashmir division and six to Jammu division.
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include one each from Budgam, Bandipora and Kulgam in Kashmir division and two each from Jammu and Kishtiwar and one each from Kuthua and Samba in Jammu division.
As per officials figures, 23,059 positive cases including 416 deaths and 21,519 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,455 including 163 deaths and 6,984 recoveries are from Baramulla, 6,895 including 6,563 recoveries and 101 deaths are from Budgam, 5,109 including 4,873 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,198 including 83 deaths and 4,881 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,553 including 4,356 recoveries and 78 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,418 cases including 4,223 and 51 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,207 including 3,973 recoveries and 38 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,593 including 2,490 recoveries and 51 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,348 including 2,237 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 20,677 including 19,718 recoveries and 300 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,487 including 3,287 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,565 including 3,076 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,111 including 2,820 recoveries and 56 deaths are from Doda, 2,800 including 2,659 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Kathua, 2,391 including 2,313 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,480 including 2,239 recoveries and 32 deaths are from Samba, 2,494 including 2,221 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,925 including 1,771 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Ramban and 1,459 including 1,362 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 788,608 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 20,030 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 4,965 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 724,347 persons have completed surveillance period and 37,572 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 3,014,877 samples are available.
Out of 3,014,877 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,904,653 while as 110,224 have tested positive, among them 4,965 persons are active, 103,565 persons have recovered and 1,694 persons have died. (with inputs KNO)
