Internet Service suspended in Pulwama, Shopian

Srinagar: Internet service was suspended in twin districts of south Kashmir in wake of District Development Council (DDC) polls, locals alleged.
They said that people were deprived of availing internet facilities in Pulwama and Shopian due to DDC Elections in these twin districts.
Thought first phase of DDC elections were conducted in other parts of Kashmir Valley as well with no internet suspension but in Pulwama and Shopian districts, this service was suspended on Saturday.
Pertinently, DDC polls and Panchayat by-elections began in parts of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday amid tight security arrangements.
Police sources said that internet service in Pulwama and Shopian were suspended due to security reasons. Sources added that the service will be restored after the culmination of polls. (KNT)
