Two Army soldiers, CRPF trooper sustain injuries

Kupwara/Budgam: Two army soldiers and a CRPF trooper were injured in two separate incidents of accidental firing in Kupwara and Budgam districts, official sources said.
They said that two soldiers were injured in accidental fire in Kandi Khass area of north Kashmir Kupwara district on Thursday.
Official sources said that the rifle of a soldier went off accidentally, resulting in injuries to his two fellow soldiers identified as Lakhwinder Singh and Mahinder Singh.
The two belong to army’s 47 Rashtriya Rifles. The soldiers were shifted to army’s military hospital at Drugmulla wherefrom they were shifted to 92 base hospital in Srinagar, they added.
Meanwhile, a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) man was injured after his service rifle went off accidently inside the CRPF camp at Humhama area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
An official said that a CRPF Head constable was injured in accidental fire and sustained critical injuries.
He said the injured trooper was referred to 92 Base Army Hospital in Srinagar.
A police officer confirmed the incident and identified the injured CRPF man as S. Barali from 25 Coy Battalion CRPF at Humhama Budgam. (with inputs from GNS, KNO)
