After downpour MeT predicts dip in night temperature

Srinagar: After three-day wet spell in the Valley, the weatherman here has predicted a further dip in the night temperature from tonight onwards, saying that the minimum temperature would be recorded in minus in the Valley from tonight.
Deputy Director Meteorological (MeT) department, Mukhtar Ahmad said that the weather would remain mostly dry till December 02. He further stated that the temperature would go down from tonight in plains.
He said that the night temperature has already witnessed a dip in higher reaches, adding that minus temperature is being recorded for the last couple of days in higher reaches while the plains would witness a further dip in the night temperature from tonight onwards.
“The night temperature as per the prediction will settle at minus 3 degree Celsius from tonight onwards,” he said.
Pertinently, the higher reaches across Kashmir valley received fresh snowfall during the last three days while plains were lashed by rains.
The weatherman has predicted dry spell across Kashmir till December 02, saying that there is less possibility of snowfall or rainfall in any part of the Valley during this period.
Meanwhile, a MeT spokesman said that the night temperature at Srinagar was recorded 2.0 degree Celsius while in Gulmarg it was recorded at minus 3.5 degree Celsius.
The spokesman further informed that night temperature in Leh was recorded at minus 7.7 degree Celsius while in Pahalgam, a famous tourist destination, the night temperature was recorded at minus 0.7 degree Celsius. (KNO)
