COVID-19: 12 more succumb, 489 test positive in JK

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday recorded 12 deaths due to COVID-19 taking the death toll to 1,663 while as 489 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 100,892 in J&K. Of the exact number of 100,892 cases, 64,730 are from Kashmir and 43,089 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 489 new cases, 225 belong to Kashmir division while as 264 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 64,730 including 60,358 recoveries and 1,091 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 43,089 including 40,534 recoveries and 572 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,264 including 3,281 from Kashmir division and 1,983 from Jammu division.
With 570 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 100,892, which is 93.57 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 85 from Srinagar, 39 from Baramulla, 33 from Budgam, 05 from Pulwama, 24 from Kupwara, 05 from Anantnag, 17 from Bandipora, 12 from Ganderbal, 00 from Kulgam and 05 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 264 from Jammu division include 126 from Jammu, 05 from Rajouri, 46 from Udhampur, 27 from Doda, 10 from Kathua, 03 from Poonch, 12 from Samba, 22 from Kishtwar, 05 from Ramban and 08 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Notably, during the last 24 hours twelve persons who had tested positive for COVID-19 have died, among them six belong to Kashmir division and six to Jammu division.
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include five from Srinagar and one from Kupwara in Kashmir division and three from Udhampur, Two from Samba and one from Kuthua in Jammu division.
As per officials figures, 22,598 positive cases including 413 deaths and 20,864 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,316 including 160 deaths and 6,737 recoveries are from Baramulla, 6,777 including 6,374 recoveries and 99 deaths are from Budgam, 5,021 including 4,776 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,114 including 82 deaths and 4,575 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,514 including 4,313 recoveries and 77 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,367 cases including 4,167 and 50 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,128 including 3,870 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,582 including 2,473 recoveries and 50 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,313 including 2,209 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 20,092 including 19,227 recoveries and 292 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,389 including 3,248 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,405 including 2,952 recoveries and 46 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,011 including 2,753 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Doda, 2,706 including 2,608 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Kathua, 2,385 including 2,287 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,403 including 2,216 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Samba, 2,392 including 2,160 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,874 including 1,738 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Ramban and 1,432 including 1,345 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 775,516 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 19,500 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 5,264 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 701,389 persons have completed surveillance period and 47,700 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,885,308 samples are available.
Out of 2,885,308 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,777,589 while as 107,819 have tested positive, among them 5,264 persons are active, 100,882 persons have recovered and 1,663 persons have died. (with inputs from KNO)
