Covid-19: Four more succumb, 661 test positive in JK

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Friday recorded four deaths due to COVID-19 taking the death toll to 1,622 while as 661 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 105,376. Of the exact number of 105,376 cases, 63,574 are from Kashmir and 41,802 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 661 new cases, 408 belong to Kashmir division while as 253 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 63,574 including 58,589 recoveries and 1,072 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 41,802 including 39,487 recoveries and 550 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,678 including 3,913 from Kashmir division and 1,765 from Jammu division.
With 539 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 98,076, which is 93.07 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 169 from Srinagar, 63 from Baramulla, 53 from Budgam, 22 from Pulwama, 27 from Kupwara, 16 from Anantnag, 21 from Bandipora, 28 from Ganderbal, 06 from Kulgam and 03 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 253 from Jammu division include 98 from Jammu, 10 from Rajouri, 50 from Udhampur, 17 from Doda, 08 from Kathua, 02 from Poonch, 12 from Samba, 36 from Kishtwar, 10 from Ramban and 10 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Notably, in the last 24 hours four persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died, among them two belong to Kashmir division and two to Jammu division.
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include one each from Anantnag and Kupwara in Kashmir division and two from Jammu district in Jammu division.
As per officials figures, 22,119 positive cases including 402 deaths and 20,151 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,151 including 159 deaths and 6,399 recoveries are from Baramulla, 6,630 including 6,247 recoveries and 98 deaths are from Budgam, 4,941 including 4,706 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Pulwama, 5,011 including 80 deaths and 4,407 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,483 including 4,213 recoveries and 77 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,317 cases including 4,090 and 49 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,060 including 3,750 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,569 including 2,442 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,293 including 2,184 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 19,510 including 18,635 recoveries and 287 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,349 including 3,215 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,190 including 2,849 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,890 including 2,690 recoveries and 52 deaths are from Doda, 2,663 including 2,556 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Kathua, 2,364 including 2,268 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,340 including 2,164 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Samba, 2,287 including 2,105 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,803 including 1,660 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Ramban and 1,406 including 1,345 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 756,975 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 19,367 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 5,678 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 683,553 persons have completed surveillance period and 46,755 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,756,552 samples are available.
Out of 2,756,552 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,651,176 while as 105,376 have tested positive, among them 5,678 persons are active, 98,076 persons have recovered and 1,622 persons have died. (with inputs from KNO)
