Covid-19: Five more succumb, 560 test positive in JK

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Thursday recorded five Covid-19 related deaths taking the death toll to 1,618 while 560 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 104,715 in J&K. Of the exact number of 104,715 cases, 63,166 are from Kashmir and 41,549 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 560 new cases, 313 belong to Kashmir division while as 247 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 63,166 including 58,258 recoveries and 1,070 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 41,549 including 39,279 recoveries and 548 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,560 including 3,838 from Kashmir division and 1,722 from Jammu division.
With 565 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 97,537 which is 93.14 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 130 from Srinagar, 35 from Baramulla, 29 from Budgam, 18 from Pulwama, 33 from Kupwara, 14 from Anantnag, 23 from Bandipora, 20 from Ganderbal, 06 from Kulgam and 05 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 247 from Jammu division include 95 from Jammu, 05 from Rajouri, 36 from Udhampur, 17 from Doda, 12 from Kuthua, 03 from Poonch, 25 from Samba, 29 from Kishtiwar, 13 from Ramban and 12 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Notably, in the last 24 hours five persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died, among them two belong to Kashmir division and three to Jammu division
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include one each from Srinagar and Kupwara in Kashmir division and one each from Rajouri and Kuthua districts in Jammu division.
As per officials figures, 21,950 positive cases including 402 deaths and 20,000 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,088 including 159 deaths and 6,348 recoveries are from Baramulla, 6,577 including 6,214 recoveries and 98 deaths are from Budgam, 4,919 including 4,697 recoveries and 86 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,984 including 79 deaths and 4,392 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,467 including 4,204 recoveries and 76 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,296 cases including 4,084 and 49 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,032 including 3,693 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,563 including 2,442 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,290 including 2,184 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 19,412 including 18,535 recoveries and 285 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,339 including 3,206 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,140 including 2,826 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,873 including 2,680 recoveries and 52 deaths are from Doda, 2,655 including 2,542 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,362 including 2,258 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,328 including 2,164 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Samba, 2,252 including 2,087 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,793 including 1,660 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Ramban and 1,396 including 1,321 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 751,735 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 19,216 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 5,560 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 682,552 persons have completed surveillance period and 42,789 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,729,618 samples are available.
Out of 2,729,618 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,624,903 while as 104,715 have tested positive, among them 5,560 persons are active, 97,537 persons have recovered and 1,618 persons have died. (with inputs from KNO)
