Covid-19 toll crosses 1600 mark as six more succumb

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported six more covid-19 related deaths in last 24 hours, taking the fatality count past 1600 mark.
Official sources said that three deaths each were reported in Kashmir Valley and Jammu which took the total number of those who succumbed to the virus to 1604.
While seven deaths were reported in official bulletin today, GNS had reported one among the fatalities regarding man from Ganderbal district’s Kachan area two days back.
The victims from Kashmir Valley include a 75-year-old woman from Noorbagh Baramulla, a 70-year-old from Kokernag Anantnag and a 62-year-old woman from Sumblar Bandipora.
Regarding the deaths from Jammu division, they said, the one victim each belonged to Udhampur, Kathua and Samba.
With these deaths, the total fatality count in the Valley has reached 1063 and 541 in the Jammu region.
Srinagar district with 399 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (283), Baramulla (158), Budgam (97), Pulwama (85), Kupwara (78), Anantnag (76), Doda (50), Rajouri (48), Kulgam (48), Bandipora(49), Shopian (36), Ganderbal (37), Udhampur (36), Kathua (34), Samba (26), Poonch (22), Ramban (18), Kishtwar(16), and Reasi (8).
Meanwhile, officials said that 572 positive cases were reported during the last 24 hours, pushing the tally of positive cases up to 103,581 in JK. Of total 103,581 cases, 62,520 are from Kashmir and 41,061 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 572 new cases, 381 belong to Kashmir division while as 191 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 62,520 including 57,532 recoveries and 1,063 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 41,061 including 38,860 recoveries and 541 deaths.
The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,585 including 3,925 from Kashmir division and 1,660 from Jammu division.
With 568 more recoveries, the tally recovered patients in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 96,392, which is 93.05 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 147 from Srinagar, 35 from Baramulla, 25 from Budgam, 17 from Pulwama, 106 from Kupwara, 06 from Anantnag, 10 from Bandipora, 39 from Ganderbal, 04 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 191 from Jammu division include 95 from Jammu, 06 from Rajouri, 28 from Udhampur, 15 from Doda, 12 from Kathua, 03 from Poonch, 10 from Samba, 13 from Kishtwar, 01 from Ramban and 08 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
As per officials figures, 21,685 positive cases including 399 deaths and 19,737 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,003 including 158 deaths and 6,217 recoveries are from Baramulla, 6,502 including 6,143 recoveries and 97 deaths are from Budgam, 4,883 including 4,667 recoveries and 85 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,927 including 78 deaths and 4,329 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,441 including 4,160 recoveries and 76 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,256 cases including 4,043 and 49 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,984 including 3,626 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,556 including 2,435 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,283 including 2,175 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 19,221 including 18,341 recoveries and 283 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,327 including 3,188 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,054 including 2,779 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,831 including 2,659 recoveries and 50 deaths are from Doda, 2,627 including 2,517 recoveries and 34 deaths are from Kathua, 2,353 including 2,246 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,294 including 2,164 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Samba, 2,202 including 2,048 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,770 including 1,637 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Ramban and 1,382 including 1,281 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 718,065 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 24,781 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 5,585 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 644,472 persons have completed surveillance period and 41,623 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,677,771 samples are available.
Out of 2,677,771 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,574,190 while as 103,581 have tested positive, among them 5,585 persons are active, 96,392 persons have recovered and 1,604 persons have died.
