Covid-19: Eight more succumb, 390 test positive in JK

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Monday recorded 08 Covid-19 related deaths taking the death toll to 1,597 while 390 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 103,009, officials said. Of the exact number of 103,009 cases, 62,139 are from Kashmir and 40,870 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 390 new cases, 240 belong to Kashmir division while as 150 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 62,139 including 57,180 recoveries and 1,059 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 40,870 including 38,644 recoveries and 538 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,588 including 3,900 from Kashmir division and 1,688 from Jammu division.
With 482 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 95,824 which is 93.02 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 112 from Srinagar, 58 from Baramulla, 20 from Budgam, 08 from Pulwama, 11 from Kupwara, 04 from Anantnag, 11 from Bandipora, 13 from Ganderbal, 03 from Kulgam and 00 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 150 from Jammu division include 97 from Jammu, 02 from Rajouri, 17 from Udhampur, 03 from Doda, 05 from Kuthua, 01 from Poonch, 10 from Samba, 05 from Kishtiwar, 08 from Ramban and 02 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Notably, during the last 24 hours eight persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died, among them five belong to Kashmir division and three to Jammu division
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include three from Srinagar and one each from Budgam and Pulwama district in Kashmir division and three from Jammu district in Jammu division.
As per officials figures, 21,538 positive cases including 399 deaths and 19,619 recoveries are from Srinagar, 6,968 including 157 deaths and 6,140 recoveries are from Baramulla, 6,477 including 6,090 recoveries and 97 deaths are from Budgam, 4,866 including 4,655 recoveries and 85 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,821 including 78 deaths and 4,305 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,435 including 4,155 recoveries and 75 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,246 cases including 4,020 and 48 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,954 including 3,607 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,552 including 2,426 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,282 including 2,166 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 19,126 including 18,249 recoveries and 283 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,321 including 3,178 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,026 including 2,746 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,816 including 2,644 recoveries and 50 deaths are from Doda, 2,615 including 2,503 recoveries and 33 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,350 including 2,242 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,284 including 2,164 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Samba, 2,189 including 2,010 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,769 including 1,627 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Ramban and 1,374 including 1,281 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 715,686 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 24,592 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 5,588 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 642,591 persons have completed surveillance period and 41,318 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,660,991 samples are available.
Out of 2,660,991 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,557,982 while as 103,009 have tested positive, among them 5,588 persons are active, 95,824 persons have recovered and 1,597 persons have died. (with inputs from KNO)
India records 30,548 fresh COVID-19 cases, 435 deaths
New Delhi: India’s COVID-19 caseload mounted to 88,45,127 with 30,548 infections being reported in a day, while the number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 82,49,579, according to data updated by the Union health ministry on Monday.
The coronavirus death toll climbed to 1,30,070 with 435 new fatalities, the data updated at 8 am showed.
The number of active cases remained below 5 lakh for the sixth consecutive day.
There are 4,65,478 active cases of coronavirus infection in the country as on date which comprise 5.26 per cent of the total caseload, the data stated.
The total number of recoveries has surged to 82,49,579, pushing the national recovery rate to 93.27 per cent. The COVID-19 case fatality rate stands at 1.47 per cent.
India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23 and 40 lakh on September 5. It went past 50 lakh on September 16, 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11 and crossed 80 lakh on October 29.
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), a total of 12,56,98,525 samples have been tested up to November 15 with 8,61,706 being tested on Sunday. (PTI)
