Families of three Pulwama youth booked under PSA claim their innocence
Pulwama: Families of three arrested youth from south Kashmir’s Pulwama district who were booked under Public Safety Act(PSA) said that their sons are innocents and requested Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to look into the issue.
Three youth identified as Asif Ali, Musadiq Ahmad Lone and Ayash Ahmad Dar all residents of Niloora village in Pulwama district were booked under PSA and shifted to Jammu jail earlier this week.
Families of trio said that on 26 April this year, there was cordon and search operation in our village and trio were taken for searches by forces, however, after searches concluded they were not allowed to go home and were taken along.
They added that for around one week they did not get any information about them.
However, after seven days we were informed about them being detained at DPL Pulwama, one of the relatives of the youth said.
Since then they were kept in Pulwama jail and on November 02, they were given bail by additional sessions judge TADA/POTA and we were eagerly waiting that they will be released, he said.
When we contacted local police, they said the trio will be released after few days, however, we were shocked to hear that they have been booked under PSA and shifted to Jammu jail.
Abdul Gaffar, father of Musadiq Ahmad said that trio have been booked for stone pelting and burning down of camp in Litter during 2016 agitation and if they were involved, why they were not arrested so far and why they were booked after 4 years.
He said Musadiq is only earning hand (bakeman) in our family as he is my Lone son among 5 daughters and his marriage was also fixed.
“But authorities have now moved him to Jammu jail,” he rued.
Ali Mohammed father of Asif Ali also echoed same views and said that the three youth are innocent.
He said that he was waiting that Asif will be released after he got bail from the court and his sister’s marriage ceremony was also fixed accordingly.
“However his rearrest and shifting him to a jail in Jammu has shocked us,” he added.
Families of trio also requested the Lt Guv Manoj Sinha, DGP J&K and IGP Kashmir to look into the matter and help seek their release.
