Covid-19: Six new deaths, 565 test positive in JK

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Saturday recorded six covid-19 related deaths taking the death toll to 1,580 while 565 positive cases were reported during the last 24 hours, officials said. Of the exact number of 102,159 cases, 61,628 are from Kashmir and 40,531 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 565 new cases, 306 belong to Kashmir division while as 259 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 61,628 including 56,521 recoveries and 1,049 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 40,531 including 38,330 recoveries and 531 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,728 including 4,058 from Kashmir division and 1,670 from Jammu division.
With 476 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 94,851 which is 92.84 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 152 from Srinagar, 45 from Baramulla, 19 from Budgam, 08 from Pulwama, 29 from Kupwara, 11 from Anantnag, 08 from Bandipora, 25 from Ganderbal, 03 from Kulgam and 06 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 259 from Jammu division include 91 from Jammu, 15 from Rajouri, 41 from Udhampur, 26 from Doda, 20 from Kuthua, 08 from Poonch, 09 from Samba, 25 from Kishtiwar, 14 from Ramban and 10 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Notably, during the last 24 hours six persons who had tested positive for COVID-19 have died. All the fatalities were reported from Kashmir division.
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include two each from Srinagar and Baramulla and one each from Budgam and Kupwara in Kashmir division
As per officials figures, 21,306 positive cases including 391 deaths and 19,344 recoveries are from Srinagar, 6,859 including 157 deaths and 5,996 recoveries are from Baramulla, 6,428 including 6,034 recoveries and 96 deaths are from Budgam, 4,840 including 4,636 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,808 including 78 deaths and 4,267 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,417 including 4,109 recoveries and 75 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,224 cases including 4,003 and 48 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,921 including 3,561 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,546 including 2,422 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,279 including 2,149 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 18,935 including 18,055 recoveries and 276 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,316 including 3,162 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,001 including 2,706 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,806 including 2,637 recoveries and 50 deaths are from Doda, 2,598 including 2,482 recoveries and 33 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,343 including 2,233 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,263 including 2,149 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Samba, 2,161 including 1,998 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,741 including 1,627 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Ramban and 1,367 including 1,281 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 713,678 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 24,597 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 5,728 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 640,349 persons have completed surveillance period and 41,424 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,628,297 samples are available.
Out of 2,628,297 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,526,138 while as 102,159 have tested positive, among them 5,728 persons are active, 94,851 persons have recovered and 1,580 persons have died. (with inputs from (KNO)
