Devastating fire damages four houses in Shopian
Shopian: Four residential houses were gutted in a devastated fire incident in Trenz village in south Kashmir’s Shopian district, police sources said.
Eyewitnesses said that smoke started emanating from the house of one Showkat Ahmed Dar alias Bitu and it spread quickly and engulfed three other houses.
Witnesses added that four houses were completely damaged in the incident. These houses belonged to Showkat Ahmed Dar, Muhammad Ismail Dar, Wali Muhammad Dar and Ghulam Ahmed Dar.
They said that fire tenders arrived in the village and tried to put out the fire with the help of locals, however, till the fire was doused, it had razed four houses to ground.
Locals said that short circuit was probably the cause of fire. A police official said that they are investigating the matter and trying to find out the cause behind the devastating fire incident. (KNT)
