DDCs in Jammu asked to fast track annulment of land transferred under Roshni Act

JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev Verma Thursday asked the Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division to cancel all the mutations of the state land transferred under Roshni Act in the districts.
He passed these directions during a video conference meeting with the Deputy Commissioners convened in this regard.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the DCs to start the process immediately and submit details in the prescribed format regarding land transferred under Roshni Act. He asked them to share details i.e. number of beneficiaries in whose favour the land has been transferred, total number of land whether it is residential or agriculture, whether mutations cancelled or not, and other details.
The Divisional Commissioner also asked the DCs to share details of other state land encroached in their respective districts. He directed them to expunge all entries of illegally encroached state land from the revenue record and further upload all these details on websites of the respective districts.
The Deputy Commissioners informed that the process of cancellation has been started in most of the tehsils while in other tehsils the process is starting soon.
Meanwhile, the Divisional Commissioner also directed the DCs to finalize stamp duty rates of the immovable property in the districts.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Central, Kulbushan Khajuria and other concerned while Deputy Commissioners of Jammu division attended the meeting through video conferencing.
