Covid-19: Eight deaths, 617 positive cases reported in JK

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Thursday recorded 08 Covid-19 related deaths taking the death toll to 1,566, while as 617 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 100,968. Of the exact number of 100,351 cases, 60,893 are from Kashmir and 40,075 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 517 new cases, 391 belong to Kashmir division while as 226 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 60,893 including 55,864 recoveries and 1,039 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 40,075 including 37,960 recoveries and 527 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 5,578 including 3,990 from Kashmir division and 1,588 from Jammu division.
With 511 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 93,824 which is 92.92 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 153 from Srinagar, 62 from Baramulla, 43 from Budgam, 18 from Pulwama, 22 from Kupwara, 34 from Anantnag, 29 from Bandipora, 22 from Ganderbal, 06 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 226 from Jammu division include 93 from Jammu, 09 from Rajouri, 35 from Udhampur, 15 from Doda, 16 from Kuthua, 08 from Poonch, 08 from Samba, 22 from Kishtiwar, 13 from Ramban and 07 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Notably, in the last 24 hours eight persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include five from Kashmir division and three from Jammu division.
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include two each from Srinagar and Baramulla and one from Kupwara in Kashmir division while four deaths from Jammu division include two from Jammu district and one from Kishtiwar.
As per officials figures, 20,998 positive cases including 387 deaths and 19,112 recoveries are from Srinagar, 6,656 including 155 deaths and 5,801 recoveries are from Baramulla, 6,388 including 5,966 recoveries and 95 deaths are from Budgam, 4,822 including 4,601 recoveries and 84 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,756 including 77 deaths and 4,229 recoveries are from Kupwara, 4,393 including 4,100 recoveries and 75 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,204 cases including 3,983 and 48 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,869 including 3,525 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,539 including 2,405 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,268 including 2,142 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 18,749 including 17,860 recoveries and 275 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,291 including 3,150 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,942 including 2,686 recoveries and 33 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,770 including 2,607 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Doda, 2,567 including 2,463 recoveries and 33 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,328 including 2,230 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,247 including 2,149 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Samba, 2,116 including 1,961 recoveries and 16 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,715 including 1,587 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Ramban and 1,350 including 1,267 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 703,126 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 16,932 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 5,578 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 637,350 persons have completed surveillance period and 41,700 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,578,555 samples are available.
Out of 2,578,555 the number of samples tested negative stands at 2,477,587 while as 100,968 have tested positive, among them 5,578 persons are active, 93,824 persons have recovered and 1,566 persons have died. (with inputs from KNO)
