37 mutton dealers booked for over-charging

Srinagar: Days after Divisional Administration fixed the rates of mutton, authorities have registered 37 FIR’s against mutton dealers for overcharging.
An official said that taking stern action against those butchers who sell meat on exorbitant rates, authorities booked 37 butchers.
He said that action against was also initiated against vegetable vendors who sell vegetables and other eatables to consumers on high rates.
“Over all a fine of Rs 70,000 was recovered from dozens of vegetable vendors,” the official said.
Assistant Director Enforcement, Mushtaq Ahmed appealed people to contact them in case they found any violation.
“It is the responsibility of Mohalla and Masjid Committees to keep a vigil on those shopkeepers who loot consumers,” he said. (KNT)
