Dilapidated roads worry commuters in Kulgam

Kulgam: Various roads in Kulgam district are giving a tough time to commuters as the condition of the roads has not witnessed any change since the past many years, locals said.
The roads which are in very bad condition include Chancer-Behibagh, Laroo to Yaripora, Yaripora and Reban and others.
Local residents said that road from Laroo-Yaripora is narrow at most of the places which is posing threat to their lives especially travelling during evening hours.
They added that most part of the road hasn’t been macadamised from last few years due to which road is full of potholes giving tough time to commuters and travellers.
Nisar Ahmad, a local resident said that most of interior roads in Yaripora belt are waiting for macadamisation for long time now, b ut authorities are not paying any heed.
He said that the road from Reban-Yaripora is also lying in a very bad condition and travelers are facing a nightmare while travelling on the road.
Locals from Chancer said that road from Chancer to Behibagh via Mohammedpora has not been macadamised from last many years, and various pleas to the higher officials have gone unnoticed.
The locals have once again requested the higher officials to look into the matter and repair these roads before the onset of winter.
