A teacher or a Guru is a person who helps people to learn. A teacher assists students in learning essential values of life, proper moral values, and conscientious discipline. Undoubtedly, teachers are the spiritual form of parents. The teaching task is considered as a profound formal occupation in religion Islam.
Even all Prophets were teachers that were sent before Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and undoubtedly, noble Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was also a teacher for all mankind. Obviously education is something we like to acquire for an enlightening experience, and a teacher is one who really helps you to obtain this valuable knowledge.
Status of Teacher
In the holy Qur’an Almighty Allah (SWT) says; “Allah elevates to high position those amongst from you who are faithful and those who have acquired knowledge.” (Qur’an Al-Mujadilah: 11)
Again Almighty Allah says in Holy Qur’an “Are those equal, those who know (have knowledge) and those who do not know?” (Qur’an Az-Zumar: 9)
Certainly, in these verses, we clearly understand how important is to be a knowledgeable person. It is crystal clear that the teacher is one who provides spiritual nourishment and improves the behavior dealings of learners. First of all, as a Muslim, I would like to convey some of my experienced points regarding knowledge, education and then I would like to conclude my words in accordance with topic of the status of teachers.
Let’s ponder on the first revelation, 96th chapter of the Holy Qur’an (don’t bother with chronological order) {Chronological order is listing, describing, or discussing when events happened as they relate to time}. Just think! The Arabs were in the state of ‘Jahilliyyah’ (ignorance of divine guidance). Religion in the pre-Islamic phase of Arab-era, animistic-polytheistic, Idol worship (idolatry) was common.
If you try to focus, just think the first revelation must be decreed according to the situation of Arabs. Likewise, the verses must shows forbade action against illegal wrongdoing activities. But the first word of the first verse was ‘Iqra’ (read or recite) which clearly indicates the ‘ILM’ (knowledge) which is the only mighty tool that forms revolutionizing (radically and fundamentally) environment in order to fade or eclipse the spoookish (void) falsehood. Now you can observe how much giant wisdom is an affiliate with Education and how much fostering and praises deserve a person who indulges in this platform of the profession.
Now regarding our topic, Status of a teacher, and Rights of teachers; Teachers are considered the most honored person in every religion. Every common person has paid attention to teachers for their efforts to educate future developing youths, and especially for their being the first brick in the structure of social development and perfection and the cause of guiding and developing behaviors and personal development and mentalities of individuals and communities. Similarly, for consideration of rights, we preferably appreciate or respect a teacher who obviously makes his student acknowledgeable, smarter, good learner and that student must develop moral disposition and standard manners.
In order to share my views on rights, firstly a teacher should have freedom of expression. Teachers should get respect from other persons. It’s not good to disrespect the one who is willingly helping you to become a Sensible living thing, and obviously teachers give us the knowledge to acquire this wisdom.
Teachers: Leading in Crisis, Re-imagining the Future
Nowadays, when the outbreak of Covid-19 has disarranged all daily life. People are scared as they were never before; they want a comfortable zone in order to get relaxed from stress and tension. At the same time, teachers show tremendous efforts in order to assists students to educate through online mode. Even the kindergarten students are treated the same as well. Teachers put in effort, deliver lectures online, even every single soul of students get to interact with the affiliated teachers in order to develop understanding and application of concepts.
Genuinely, there is no compromise on our education system or future, because of the presence of teachers. Somehow I don’t show any opposition to agree with some of the uncertain problems regarding online perceptions. Indeed people want again a regular clock time, normality but in order to withstand this epidemic, we’ve to follow guidelines of authorities to prevent this vague pandemic to spark further. At length, again I would like to further stimulate with praised encouragement to all the teachers who really rather pride themselves for this sagacity wisdom profession and who really help us to reanalyze or reimagining our future even in this hard crisis and make an appreciable factor for their eminence.
