427 fresh cases also surface

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported ten more covid-19 related deaths in last 24 hours, taking its overall fatality count due to the virus to 1391.
Among the victims, seven belonged to Kashmir and three to Jammu region.
As regards the Valley, they said, Kulgam reported two deaths while Srinagar, Pulwama, Anantnag, Bandipora, Shopian and Anantnag reported one death each.
Among others, they said, the victims include a 77-year-old woman from Bandipora, who died thirteen days after being admitted to the SKIMS Soura hospital and a 70-year-old man from Pampore Pulwama who died at CD hospital, one of the exclusive facilities for the management of the covid-19 patients, three days after he was admitted there.
Regarding deaths from Jammu, they said, one each was reported from Udhampur, Samba and Ramban.
With these deaths, the fatality count has reached 931 in Valley and 460 in Jammu.
Srinagar district with 333 deaths tops the list followed by Jammu (237), Baramulla (135), Budgam (90), Pulwama (78), Kupwara (71), Anantnag (71), Kulgam (45), Bandipora(43), Rajouri (45), Doda (42), Shopian (34), Ganderbal (30), Kathua (30), Udhampur (26), Samba (25), Poonch (22), Kishtwar(14), Ramban (12), and Reasi (7).
Meanwhile, 427 positive cases were reported pushing the J&K tally to 88,369. Of the total 88,369 cases, 52,954 are from Kashmir and 35,415 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 427 new cases, 258 belong to Kashmir division while as 169 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 52,954 including 46,901 recoveries and 9228 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 35,415 including 31,766 recoveries and 460 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 8,314 including 5,125 from Kashmir division and 3,189 from Jammu division.
With 781 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 78,667 which is 89.02 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 112 from Srinagar, 16 from Budgam, 38 from Baramulla, 19 from Pulwama, 18 from Kupwara, 26 from Anantnag, 19 from Bandipora, 04 from Ganderbal, 02 from Kulgam and 04 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 169 from Jammu division include 116 from Jammu, 02 from Rajouri, 11 from Udhampur, 0 from Doda, 05 from Kuthua, 09 from Poonch, 12 from Samba, 07 from Kishtiwar, 04 from Ramban and 03 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
As per officials figures, 17,809 positive cases including 333 deaths and 15,699 recoveries are from Srinagar, 5,253 including 90 deaths and 5,169 recoveries are from Budgam, 5,253 including 3,823 recoveries and 135 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,433 including 4,076 recoveries and 77 deaths are from Pulwama, 4,094 including 71 deaths and 3,711 recoveries are from Kupwara, 3,999 including 3,575 recoveries and 71 deaths are from Anantnag, 3,865 cases including 3,543 and 42 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,319 including 3,037 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,397 including 2,269 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,122 including 1,999 recoveries and 34 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 16,222 including 14,901 recoveries and 237 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,122 including 2,757 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,572 including 2,428 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,502 including 2,254 recoveries and 42 deaths are from Doda, 2,333 including 2,248 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,148 including 1,530 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,079 including 1,648 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Samba, 1,727 including 1,472 recoveries and 14 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,514 including 1,438 recoveries and 12 deaths are from Ramban and 1,196 including 1,090 recoveries and 07 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 629,710 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 21,927 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 8,314 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 545,876 persons have completed surveillance period and 52,205 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 2,023,294 samples are available.
Out of 2,023,294 the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,934,925 while 87,942 have tested positive, among them 8,314 are active, 78,667 persons have recovered and 1,388 persons have died. (with inputs from GNS, KNO)
