Customers allege loot by BSNL Fiber service providers in Kulgam

Kulgam: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited(BSNL) Fibre vendors are charging exorbitantly from customers who are approaching for installing fiber connection for internet services in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Customers from different areas of the district said that a fiber vendor JK Satellite network communication and others are looting customers on different pretexts for getting broadband connections.
They said as per government order the service providing vendor has to charge around 4000 Rs from the customer and provide all equipment to the end user.
“However, vendors who are hand in glove with BSNL officials charge twice the amount from every customer,” Saleem Yousuf, a student from Devsar area of Kulgam said.
He said that a vendor took 12 thousands rupees from him to and after that only he installed a broadband connection at our place.
Faheem Ahmad, another customer said that the vendor took over eight thousand from him for installing the fiber connection.
Customers alleged that they complained before BSNL officials several times but to no avail and no action was taken against the involved persons.
They said that once we complain, our services get disconnected for several days and it shows officials are hand in glove with the vendors.
They requested higher officials of the department to look into the matter and take action against the vendors and the officials involved in the brazen loot.
On contacting Assistant General Manager BSNL Kashmir Zone, Muzzafar Ahmad he demanded names of all the customers who have been charged extra money.
He assured that the matter will be investigated and action will be taken against involved vendors and officials.
