Man falls from walnut tree, dies

Srinagar: Two females and a biker died in three separate road accidents in Kashmir Valley. Meanwhile, a man died after falling from a tree in Boniyar area of north Kashmir.
Police sources said that a vehicle bearing registration number JK13C-7004 hit and injured a girl identified as 18 year old Ishrat Nazir of Patalbagh Pampore near Ratnipora Pulwama. The injured was shifted to SDH Pampore for treatment, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Police sources said that the vehicle was driven by one Syed Muhammad Yaqoob of Ratnipora Pulwama.
“The vehicle was seized, driver arrested and a case registered in this regard,” said a police official.
Meanwhile, an accident took place at Zoonipora Asham area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora, in which a vehicle bearing registration number JK01H-9942 hit a motor cycle number JK01F-8428 that resulted in the injuries to motorcyclist and his pillion rider.
The pillion rider identified as Raja Begum wife of Muhammad Aslam Marazi of Ahan Ganderbal succumbed to her injuries.
A police official said that the driver identified as Muhammad Ashraf has been arrested and a case registered in this regard.
In another road accident, a biker died on spot when a truck bearing number JK03C-7004 hit his motorcycle in Khudwani area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
The deceased was identified as Ishfaq Qadir Khanday, a resident of Susandoo village of Kulgam.
In another mishap, a 45-year-old man was killed in a road accident in Bhan area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
A police official said that a government physical teacher identified as Waheed Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Ahad Dar of Ashmuji Kulgam died after his Scooty was hit by a tractor in Bhan area.
The deceased was on way to school to attend the duty, official said, adding that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered and further investigation has been taken up.
Meanwhile, an elderly person died on spot after he fell down from a walnut tree in north Kashmir’s Barmaulla district, reports said Tuesday.
The incident occurred at Banali area of Boniyar.
Police sources said that 65 year old man Muhammad Yousuf Shah lost balance when he was on top of a walnut tree. He fell down and died on spot. (with inputs from KNT, KNO)
