19 deaths, 975 fresh COVID-19 cases reported in JK

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 975 fresh instances of COVID-19 infection and 19 fatalities in a day, taking the caseload to 78,228 and death toll to 1,231 on Saturday, officials said.
According to them, the Jammu region recorded 591 cases and the Kashmir Valley 384. District-wise Jammu reported the highest 403 new cases, followed by 150 in Srinagar district, officials said.
There are 15,646 active cases of the coronavirus disease in the Union Territory, while 61,351 patients have recovered so far, they said.
Meanwhile, 19 deaths took place in 24 hours in Jammu and Kashmir — 11 in Jammu and eight in the Valley, the officials said.
Giving details officials said that 975 new positive cases 591 from Jammu division and 384 from Kashmir division, have been reported taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 78228.
Moreover, 1399 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 848 from Jammu Division and 551 from Kashmir Division.
According to the daily Media Bulletin on novel Corona virus (Covid-19), out of 78228 positive cases, 15646 are Active Positive, 61351 have recovered and 1231 have died; 376 in Jammu division and 855 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 1685809 test results available, 1607581 samples have been tested as negative till October 03, 2020.
Till date 589383 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 21523 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 15646 in isolation and 48922 under home surveillance. Besides, 502061 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 15376 positive cases (including 150 cases reported today) with 1978 Active Positive, 13099 recovered (including 271 cases recovered today), 299 deaths; Baramulla has 4523 positive cases (including 32 cases reported today) with 1392 Active Positive, 3007 recovered (including 14 cases recovered today), 124 deaths; Pulwama reported 4035 positive cases (including 39 cases reported today) with 404 active positive cases, 3561 recovered (including 37 cases recovered today), 70 deaths; Kulgam has 2290 positive cases (including 05 cases reported today) with 110 Active Positive, 2137 recoveries (including 06 cases recovered today), 43 deaths; Shopian has 2041 positive cases (including 02 cases reported today) with 151 Active Positive, 1858 recovered (including 08 cases reported today), 32 deaths; Anantnag district has 3595 positive cases (including 28 cases reported today) with 462 Active Positive, 3067 recovered (including 07 cases recovered today), 66 deaths; Budgam has 5023 positive cases (including 43 cases reported today) with 824 Active Positive and 4113 recovered (including 64 cases recovered today), 86 deaths; Kupwara has 3717 positive cases (including 52 cases reported today) with 746 Active Positive, 2903 recovered (including 42 cases recovered today), 68 deaths; Bandipora has 3514 positive cases (including 22 cases reported today) with 416 Active Positive, 3060 recovered (including 36 cases reported today), 38 deaths and Ganderbal has 2957 positive cases (including 11 cases reported today) with 278 active positive cases, 2650 recoveries (including 66 cases recovered today) and 29 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 14262 positive cases (including 403 cases reported today) with 3597 active positive cases, 10465 recoveries (including 355 cases recovered today), 200 deaths; Rajouri has 2754 positive cases (including 29 cases reported today) with 753 active positive cases, 1966 recovered (including 332 cases reported today), 35 deaths; Ramban has 1388 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today) with 241 active positive, 1137 recoveries (including 17 cases recovered today), 10 deaths; Kathua has 2119 positive cases (including 19 cases reported today) with 394 Active positive, 1700 recovered (including 107 cases recovered today), 25 deaths; Udhampur has 2342 positive cases (including 39 cases reported today) with 451 active positive cases, 1871 recovered (including 02 cases reported today), 20 deaths; Samba has 1832 positive cases (including 30 cases reported today) with 675 Active Positive, 1135 recoveries, 22 deaths; Doda has 2271 positive cases (including 11 cases reported today) with 921 active positive cases, 1317 recoveries (including 20 cases recovered today), 33 deaths; Poonch has 1842 positive cases (including 32 cases reported today) with 925 active positive, 901 recoveries (including 15 cases reported today), 16 deaths; Reasi has 1023 positive cases (including 13 cases reported today) with 332 active positive, 685 recoveries and 06 deaths while Kishtwar has 1324 positive cases (including 09 cases reported today) with 596 active positive cases and 719 recoveries and 09 deaths.
According to the bulletin, of the total 78228 positive cases in J&K 8894 have been reported as travelers while 69334 as others.
The bulletin added that there are 1306 COVID dedicated beds, 1170 Isolation beds with 871 vacant beds and 136 ICU beds where 79 beds are vacant in Jammu division while there are 2358 COVID dedicated beds, 2214 Isolation beds where 1699 beds are vacant and 144 ICU beds where 117 are vacant beds in Kashmir division. There are a total of 3664 COVID dedicated beds, 3384 Isolation beds with 2570 beds vacant and 280 ICU beds with 196 vacant beds in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The Central Government is continuously monitoring the evolving situation of Covid-19 in the Union Territory and is providing all necessary support towards effective containment of the spread of Covid-19 and better clinical management of positive cases.
