In absence of staff, NT office Zainapora remains locked
Pulwama: In absence of staff at Naib Tehsildar office Zainapora Shopian, the office has remained locked since last one month, locals said adding that they are facing immense hardships.
Locals alleged that the lone staffer at the office at Naib Tehsildar office Zainapora was transferred and leaving only the Naib Tehsildar posted in the office.
“As there is no staff member available at the said office, the entire functioning of the office has been left to the Naib Tehsildar alone who cannot handle the office single handedly,” a local resident alleged.
He said that there is not even a Chowkidar posted in the office who could open the office or close and guard it.
Shabir Ahmad, anther local said it is an irony that the administration has failed to provide any staff to the Naib Tehsildar and on the other hand the officer at Zainapora has been given additional charges of NT Watchi, who died recently due to Covid-19.
He said that when there no body in dispatch section and other sections how can NT single handedly run the office.
Locals said that presently the NT office witnesses huge footfall as people have applied for domicile certificates, income certificates and other important documents but the office remains closed due to non-availability of the staff.
The locals said that they we have brought the issue to the notice of concerned authorities several times but to no avail.
They have now requested higher ups to look into the matter at an earliest and post staff at the said office so that locals can heave a sigh of relief.
SDM Zainapora Syed Altaf Ahmad, when contacted said that he will look into the issue and try to get staffers posted there.
Despite repeated attempts, DDC Shopian wasn’t available for his comments.
