Babri masjid demolition not preplanned, all acquitted: CBI court
Lucknow, Sep 30: Ruling that the Babri Masjid demolition was not pre-planned, the special CBI court on Wednesday acquitted all 32 accused in the case.
The verdict came 28 years after the structure was razed down by a mob in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya town, sparking communal riots.
The accused in the case included BJP leaders LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, former ministers Uma Bharti and Kalyan Singh, among others. While BJP veterans skipped the proceedings, Vinay Katiyar, Dharamdas, Vedanti, Lallu Singh, Champat Rai, and Pawan Pandey were among the accused present in the court.
