Vehil-Amshipora road in Shambles, authorities unmoved

Anantnag: A vital road starting fom Vehil to Amshipora is in shambles from last several years however, the authorities have remained unmoved and have failed to get the road repeired.
Locals said that the road connects dozens of villages with district headquarters but this road is being neglected due to unknown reasons.
They said that every year they are being promised by authorities that the road will be macadamised, however, over one decade has passed they are still waiting for macadamisation of the road.
Mushtaq Ahmad a local resident said that the road connects Shamsipora, Dangerpora, Amshipora, Check, Ramnagri, Reshi nagri and many other villages but no attention is being provided towards the road.
He further added that last month senior citizens of the area met some higher ups in this regard and they were assured that road will be macadamised, however their promise on ground proved hoax.
Locals said that the dilapidated condition of the road is giving tough time to the commuters especially the patients and elderly.
They requested higher ups to look into the matter and macadamise the road at an earliest so that locals can heave a sigh of relief.
Executive Engineer R&B division Shopian, when contacted said that he has joined recently joined at the place.
However, he assured that he will look into the matter and every possible step will be taken to repair the road.
