Militant killed in Tral encounter, forces party attacked at Chadoora
Pulwama/Srinagar, Sep 24: A militant has been killed in an encounter that raged between government forces and militants in Machoma Bhagandar area of Tral on Thursday morning. Meanwhile, militants attacked a forces party at Chadoora in Budgam.
An official said that a joint team of Police, army’s 42 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
He said that as the joint teams of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them which was retaliated, triggering an encounter. One militant has been killed as the operation continues.
A senior police officer also confirmed the exchange of fire between forces and militants.
As per the sources, two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
Meanwhile, paramilitary CRPF trooper was injured after suspected militants attacked forces in Sarai Wadipora, Chadoora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
According to news reports suspected militants lobbed grenade on CRPF at Naka in Sarai, which was followed by firing . “One CRPF trooper was wounded in the firing, “sources said,
