CRPF trooper injured in Budgam gunfight

Srinagar: A CRPF personnel was injured in an encounter between militants and security forces in Budgam district of central Kashmir on Monday, police said.
The security forces launched a cordon and search operation in Nawad area of Charar-e-Sharief in the central Kashmir district after receiving information about the presence of militants there, a police official said.
As the forces were searching the area, the militants fired upon them, injuring a CRPF personnel. The forces retaliated, ensuing an encounter, the official said.
The exchange of firing was going on, the official said, adding that further details were awaited.
Meanwhile, suspected militants attacked a ROP party of CRPF in Nowgam area of Srinagar on Monday morning.
Official sources said that militants fired upon CRPF party of 110 BN. However, no loss of life or injury has been reported.
Meanwhile, the whole area was cordoned off to nab the attackers.
In another attack suspected militants attacked a CRPF party of 90 battalion by firing with Under Barrel Grenade launcher in Arwani area of Anantnag district.
The device missed the target and exploded far away with a loud bang.
No loss of life or injury was reported in the incident, police sources said.
Soon after the attack the whole area was cordoned off to nab the attackers
