23 fresh deaths, 1,036 positive cases reported in JK

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Monday recorded 23 fresh deaths while as 1036 cases tested positive, taking the total number of positive cases in the UT to 65026. Of the total 65,026 cases, 41,560 are from Kashmir and 23,466 from Jammu division.
Officials said that among 1,036 new cases, 473 belong to Kashmir division while as 563 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 41,560 including 31,538 recoveries and 778 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 23,466 including 10,557 recoveries and 246 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 21,887 including 9,244 from Kashmir division and 12,643 from Jammu division.
With 1,158 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 42,115 which is 64.76 percent of the total cases and was over 78 percent over two weeks back.
Notably, the active cases have reached over 21,000 in Jammu and Kashmir and active cases in Jammu division are more than recovered cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 141 from Srinagar, 60 from Budgam, 79 from Baramulla, 54 from Pulwama, 36 from Anantnag, 22 from Bandipora, 14 from Kupwara, 56 from Ganderbal, 05 from Kulgam and 06 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 563 from Jammu division include 245 from Jammu, 66 from Rajouri, 30 from Udhampur, 34 from Kathua, 59 from Doda, 57 from Samba, 24 from Poonch, 15 from Ramban, 26 from Reasi and 07 from Kishtiwar,” officials disclosed.
Notably, in the last 24 hours, 23 persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include nine from Kashmir division and 14 from Jammu division.
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include four from Srinagar, three from Anantnag and two from Budgam in Kashmir division while as 14 from Jammu division include four each from Jammu and Rajouri, two each from Doda and Samba and one each from Poonch and Reasi.
As per officials figures, 13,199 positive cases including 268 deaths and 10, 882 recoveries are from Srinagar, 4,424 including 78 deaths and 2,620 recoveries are from Budgam, 3,923 including 2,649 recoveries and 116 deaths are from Baramulla, 3,588 including 2,981 recoveries and 63 deaths are from Pulwama, 3,288 including 59 deaths and 2,371 recoveries are from Anantnag, 3,177 including 2,110 recoveries and 34 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,221 cases including 2,278 and 61 deaths are from Bandipora, 2,616 including 1,926 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,188 including 1,990 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Kulgam and 1,936 including 1,731 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 10,422 including 4,166 recoveries and 138 deaths are from Jammu district, 2,152 including 914 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Rajouri, 1,827 including 1084 recoveries and 10 deaths are from Udhampur, 1,753 including 1,067 recoveries and 15 deaths are from Kathua, 1,745 including 601 recoveries and 20 deaths are from Doda, 1,448 including 664 recoveries and 12 deaths are from Samba, 1,380 including 514 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Poonch, 1,092 including 719 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Ramban, 766 including 407 recoveries and 05 deaths are from Reasi and 881 including 411 recoveries and 05 deaths are from Kishtwar.
As per the daily information bulletin, 548,355 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 27,819 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 21,887 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 435,806 persons have completed surveillance period and 61,819 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,415,364 samples are available.
Out of 1,415,364 the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,350,338 while 65,026 have tested positive, among them 21,886 are active, 42,115 persons have recovered and 1024 persons have died. (with inputs from KNO)
