Woman, militant killed, CRPF officer injured during Batamaloo encounter
Srinagar, Sep: A 45 year old woman was among two killed and a CRPF officer injured in an ongoing encounter in Batamaloo area of Srinagar district.
A senior police officer said that, a lady identified as Kounsar Riyaz of Batamalo recieved bullet wound during cross firing, she was immediately shifted to Police hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead.
He further told that a unidentified militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter and a Deputy commandant of CRPF also received bullet wound and was subsequently shifted to 92 Base hospital for treatment.
Earlier, according to the reports, a joint team of Police and CRPF launched a cordon-and-search-operation in Batamaloo.
As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them. The fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering off an encounter.(GNS)
